Due to technical difficulties beyond our control, this broadcast was shorter than usual, and we took no calls. During the show, we discussed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 that passed the House, and also covered some of the executive orders signed by President Obama this week. We apologize for the shortened show, and assure you the problems have already been rectified.

During the first hour, we discussed the inauguration of Barack Obama, the initial days ahead for the new administration, speculation on the New York Senate seat appointment, and reviewed a list of some of the 500 laws proposed in the first days of the 111th Congress.

During the second hour, we spoke with 4 callers. We heard some perspectives on life in Iraq, the war, and the incoming administration from one of our callers currently serving over there. We also discussed the inauguration, the first 100 days for President Obama, Hillary Clinton's role as Secretary of State, stimulus plans, winter weather, and George W. Bush's legacy.

During the second hour, we spoke with 2 callers and discussed the latest on the efforts to seat senators in Illinois, Minnesota, and New York. We also continued our reflections of the legacy of George W. Bush, the role of media in questioning our leaders, speculation on Al Franken's ability to be a senator, whether Hillary Clinton is legally eligible to be Secretary of State, and the record cold temperatures across the United States.
