We discussed an advertising campaign that went awry for Turner Broadcasting in Boston, possible investigations by Congress into the executive branch's domestic spying program, fast track trade authority for the President, privacy on the internet, Congressional spending bills, the U.S. embargoes on Cuba, and global warming. January 23, 2007 - The show from January 23, 2007 has been posted to the Audio Archive. Our one year anniversary show. This was a special edition of America's Debate Radio. We started by simulcasting the President's State of the Union Address. After that, we went on air and straight to the calls. We discussed all aspects of the President's speech including his proposals for energy policy, immigration, and fighting the war on terrorism. We also touched on Hillary Clinton's announcement that she will run for President in the 2008 election and Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez's comments on habeas corpus. We spoke with 5 callers and the show lasted almost two and a half hours. Enjoy!

After the speech, we took calls and discussed troop increases in Iraq, Iraqi internal violence, Iraqi oil revenues, the naming of General Petraeus to replace General Casey to command Middle East operations, General Abizaid's replacement by Admiral Fallon to oversee the U.S. Central Command, and President Bush's nomination of Zalmay Khalilzad as the next U.N. ambassador.
